Customer payments that have been applied to invoices can be edited at any time and can be voided up until they have been deposited into your checkbook. If your customer payment no longer has a void icon next to it, then the deposit that is associated with that payment will need to be voided first.
- Navigate to Income > Deposits and locate the deposit that includes the customer payment that you wish to edit or void.
- Click the void icon
Note: By voiding this deposit, a reversing entry might be required depending on the date the void is occurring. If the date does not fall within the same month as the voided deposit, a reversing entry will be required. View How to create reversing entries for voided AR deposits.
- After the deposit has been voided, return to Income > Customer Payments and you will notice that customer payment is now voidable
