How to edit and void a payable

To edit an open payable:

  • Navigate to Expenses > Payables
  • Scroll down to view your Payables list
  • Locate the payable that you wish to edit and select the pencil icon
  • When the Update Payable window opens, edit the information and select "Update Payable"

If the payable has already been paid, you still have the ability to edit the information. To edit a paid payable:

  • Select the filter dropdown, and select Paid
  • Click the pencil icon next to the payable you wish to edit, and edit the information

Note: If you edit the payable amount, the previous payment will remain as it has already been posted to the checkbook. This process will reopen the payable for the difference between the previous payment and the new amount.

To void an open payable:

  • Navigate to Expenses > Payables
  • Scroll down to view your Payables list
  • Locate the payable you wish to void and select the void icon
  • When the "Are you sure" window opens, select "Yes"

Note: Once a payable has been voided, you will no longer have the ability to make any edits.

Just like other voids throughout the system, a voided payable will create a reversing entry within the General Ledger and will get posted on the date the void occurred.
